Nine frequent mistakes when putting the washing machine to be avoided

The washing machines are easy to handle . Many have a dashboard that functions as an instruction manual, like the classic stop / play button with which we stop washing, add clothes and put it back into operation. Even so, we make frequent mistakes when putting the washing machine . We give you some tips for use in this, which we expand below.

Before washing, check the pockets

Nobody likes to lose a ticket when washing the jeans in which he had kept it. However, if we do not check the pockets before putting the washing machine , we could even damage its components. We usually use the example of coins and keys, metallic elements that can scratch the drum inside and hit the door .

Taking an eye on what is in the pockets of our garments will not only lengthen the useful life of the appliance, it will also help us take care of the fabrics. If a key can scratch the metal drum of a washing machine , it is foreseeable that our clothes will take the worst part. In addition, we still get a joy in the form of change.

Reading the labels will help us save

Imagine that you put a washing machine and in all the garments a bowl with the number 40 appears inside. What does that mean? That the maximum temperature at which we can wash the garment so as not to deteriorate it is 40ºC. Why then put the washing machine at 50ºC? If we do it, the only thing we get is to damage the clothes and consume more energy. Reading the labels helps us save , keep clothes for longer and take care of the environment, all at once.

Sort clothing, essential

In line with the above, it is recommended to classify the clothes by degree of dirt, type of fabric and color . The reason for this is that similar garments will use similar washing programs and, grouping them, we will find the optimal program for the garments.

Washers such as Samsung QuickDrive ™ have associated applications such as SmartThings ™. With them we can specify the clothes that we have put in search of the ideal washing program. Giving with it is important if we want to save energy, water and detergent, as well as personal time. The best program does not have to be the longest.

Beware of very dirty fabrics

Washing machines , such as dishwashers, have filters to prevent particles that come off the clothes from damaging the components or plugging the plumbing. But the first filter is us. If a fabric is very dirty, it is better to pre-wash it , removing the remains by hand, such as mud or food.

What can happen if we put a garment, for example, slippers, with a lot of dry mud? This dirt could damage the drum, clog the filters and also stain other clothes. A brush is recommended for dry remains, and water with detergent for those that are still wet.

The QuickDrive ™ Series 8 washers measure the level of dirt present in the laundry, and thereby calculate the amount of detergent, energy and water needed for washing. That is, if we shake off the dirt first , we also avoid an expense.

Clean dispensers from time to time

The dispensers of a washing machine are the spaces for the detergent or the softener. Also the openings through which these elements go out to the drum. If we have not cleaned them for a long time, or live in a place with very hard water (with a lot of lime), cleaning the dispensers is a good idea . How? We can always do it by hand, for example using a brush with soft and flexible bristles to remove detergent that has been hard.

Respect the maximum load of the washing machine

If a washing machine has a capacity for 10 kg of clothes , it is not recommended to fill it with 15 kg even if they fit. The motives? The clothes will not come out as clean as they should be, there will be a greater expenditure of light, water and detergent, and we could damage the engine in the long term. None of this does not interest as users.

Some engines, such as Samsung’s Digital Inverter, have a 10-year warranty, but an item that lasts a long time does not mean we can treat it badly . The German VDE Association certified the useful life of the QuickDrive ™ washer motors in 23 years , but we will only reach two decades if we use them responsibly.

Use the detergent in adequate amounts

You have to properly dose the amount of detergent or fabric softener  that we put into our washing machine. A lot can damage the tissues, as well as cause a greater impact on the environment; and little can have no effect, forcing us to wash again.

Learning by trial and error is a system, although another more reliable is to trust that the technology of measurement of dirt that we have seen above helps us to measure how much to put of each. The current washing machines incorporate a space to pour detergent and softener for several washes, and it is the washing machine that measures.

Do you always wash with hot water? Why?

As users, we often choose a “medium” program and continue with it all our lives. Sometimes we do not even consider changing it: pressing a button is easier than thinking which is the right one. But it happens that there is a lot of clothes that we can wash with cold water instead of hot . Moreover, there are clothes that have to be washed cold, so that they do not spoil.
